The Borough of Sea Girt is located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Sea Girt is a beautiful community blessed with small town charm, rural beauty, and a rich community life with an abundance of recreational activities enjoyed by residents. This small borough exudes small town charm and a sense of true New Jersey community. Known for its elegant homes, Sea Girt real estate attracts a wide range of home seekers. Sea Girt homes vary from grand Southern Georgian colonial beachfront mansions to striking family houses on sleepy streets close to all amenities.
Sea Girt has a population of approximately 2,148 and covers 1.05 square miles. Unlike many other Jersey Shore communities, Sea Girt’s residents are predominantly year round. Sea Girt features one of the oldest lighthouses in the nation. The Historic Sea Girt Lighthouse tower’s peak is 60 feet above sea level and was completed in 1896.
The Borough of Sea Girt’s beaches and boardwalk are open on a year-round basis. During the summer season swim and sun on clean, safe, sandy white beaches or take a stroll on a beautifully landscaped boardwalk that is pleasantly reminiscent of earlier times. The boardwalk offers an incredible panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean that starts at the Sea Girt Lighthouse and runs to the southern end of the charmingly inviting town.
Sea Girt also offers many worthwhile recreational programs that allow residents the opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbors within our community. Our youth athletics, events, and activities include soccer and basketball clinics, basketball, flag football, volleyball, paddle tennis and yoga lessons, surf camp, summer clambake and concerts, regularly scheduled fun nights, Halloween hayride and party, and the annual Christmas tree lighting. Sea Girt also partners with neighboring Spring Lake Borough to participate in Little League T-ball, baseball, and softball in addition to our annual soccer program.
